Bengaluru: Speaking on the matter of Kerala Road Transport Corporation winning the legal right to its trademark – acronym KSRTC, Karnataka Minister of Transport Laxman Savadi said that there is no competition of enmity between Kerala and Karnataka regarding this issue.

He said that since they are a government agency, it was not necessary to file a case because their aim is public service and not profit. He went on to say that it is important to maintain good relations with other states instead of raising unnecessary issues to create enmity.

On Wednesday June 2, the Central Trade Marks Registry issued its final decision that the abbreviation ‘KSRTC’ can only be used by Kerala State Road Transport Corporation henceforth, finally putting an end to a decade-long legal struggle between Kerala and Karnataka’s transportation departments.
