Bengaluru: A final report on former IAS offcier D K Ravi’s mysterious death will be submitted to the designated court in a week, said sources from CBI here on Saturday.
The CBI sources stated that IAS officer’s death was a case of suicide and there was no foul play in the incident after investigating the case from all angles including family issues, political pressures over the sand mafia and other angles. So the central agency was not recommending for anyone’s prosecution for abetment in his suicide.
According to sources the postmortem report, call records, messages on social networking sites and other documents that were examined by the investigation team, found no reason for him to kill himself.
Soon after the IAS officer was found dead in March, there were allegations that the land and sand mafias which Ravi targeted as deputy commissioner in Kolar, were behind his death. A few organisations had even accused some political leaders of abetting his suicide.
According to sources the investigations into D.K. Ravi’s case have concluded and the case report will be filed under section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC).
The final report was ready a week ago, and the report has been submitted to the office in Delhi headquarters for approval which is required for it to be submitted to the CBI designated court, sources said.
