No More Entry Fee for Private, Commercial Vehicles at Bengaluru Airport

The new fee structure was withdrawn by the Bengaluru airport authorities shortly after it was announced, hours after they had enforced the new regulation. Private and commercial vehicles had to pay a certain amount to enter the airport premises under the new fee structure. The announcement that flights to and from Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport would cost more starting on Monday was received just hours ago.

Private vehicles (whiteboards) would have to pay a fee of up to Rs 150 for seven to fourteen minutes under the new law. For private vehicles, any time less than seven minutes would not be billed. If these cars took longer than seven minutes, the fee would rise to Rs 300. The entrance fee for buses would be Rs 600, and the fee for tempo travelers would be Rs 300.

The airport recently installed a new charge board which stated that vehicles left unattended or left for more than fifteen minutes would be towed to the closest police station at the owner’s expense. The updated pricing schedule was in effect at Terminals 1 and 2.
