Bengaluru: The Bengaluru unit of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is now operational in the Domlur of the City.
According to the authorities, as many as 20 officials are deputed for this permanent office of NIA. An officer of the Inspector rank from the State police was also deputed for coordination with local officials.
Earlier, NIA officials from Telangana or Kerala were investigating the terror cases related to Karnataka. BJP and pro-Hindu organisations have been demanding a permanent office of NIA in the State. They had sent representations to the Central Government in this regard.
According to the authorities, this office will help the NIA to carry out the investigations quickly and easily for local coordination
