Speaking after breaking the ground for the bronze statue of Nadadevi Bhuvaneshwari in Vidhana Soudha premises, he said, “Vidhana Soudha premises houses statues of Ambedkar, Basavanna and Kempe Gowda. Goddess Bhuvaneshwari’s statue must be there in this seat of power. We are setting up the 25-feet bronze statue to commemorate the 50th anniversary of renaming the state as Karnataka.

“It was our government that made Kannada mandatory in sign boards. Many pro-Kannada organisations have fought for this. No one is permanent in this world, only the legacy we leave behind is permanent. I congratulate the Kannada and Culture department for the statue of Goddess Bhuvaneshwari.Asked about NEET exams, he said, “Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan himself has admitted that there have been irregularities. Supreme Court’s notice to National Testing Agency is a good move. The future of our children is important.”
