Bengaluru: Bishop Cotton Boys School in Bengaluru should aspire to be among the top three schools in the world, President Pranab Mukherjee said on Wednesday.
“Aspire to become one of the top three schools in the world,” Mukherjee told students and faculty of Bishop Cotton, ranked among the three best schools in the country.
Complimenting the founders and management of the public school for completing 150 years of service, the president said Bishop Cotton has carved a niche through its emphasis on quality.
“As education should build character and not merely inject information, schools should instil in their students commitment to our core civilisational values such as love for motherland, belief in peaceful co-existence and acceptance of diversity,” he said.
The president also recalled that the school’s alumni distinguished themselves in diverse fields and included eminent personalities such as General Thimayya and nuclear scientist Raja Ramanna.
