Bengaluru: As many as 47 persons including a DySP level officer, a CPI and several candidates have been arrested by CID in connection with the PSI recruitment scam.
This is the highest number of arrests made by CID in connection with a corruption scam.
According to the CID sources, these arrested police officers reportedly helped a few candidates to engage in the malpractice at a few selected centres.
According to the sources, the number of persons to be arrested will touch 100 in the next few days with officials suspecting that the scam has happened in another 20 centres across the State.
The CID team is verifying the available records and the statements of the candidates to further expand the scope of the inquiry. The investigating agency is suspecting that this scam is reported in previous years also raising doubts over how exams are conducted by the department.
