Bengaluru: National farmers leader Rakesh Tikait stated on Saturday that the BJP has begun using religion for political gain during election campaigns in the state.
Addressing an event titled “Rebuilding the Nation During Dictatorship,” which was organized by the Gauri Smarak Trust to mark the sixth anniversary of senior journalist Gauri Lankesh’s passing, He remarked at the Town Hall auditorium in the city on Tuesday. He stated that the BJP had previously engaged in political activities under the banner of Lord Ram in various other states.
However, in Karnataka, rather than invoking Lord Ram, they began practicing politics under the banner of Lord Anjaneya. Nevertheless, this approach did not yield favorable results. As a result, the BJP is employing the tactic of invoking deities in their respective states as needed,” he remarked. He also highlighted the prevailing atmosphere of violence in the nation.
