Ramanagara: Higher Education Minister Ashwath Narayan had lodged an FIR against 17 teachers after pressurising the Police to ensure the victory of BJP candidate Puttanna in last year’s elections to the Bengaluru Teachers’ Constituency. JD (S) Legal Cell State President A. P. Ranganath said that the court had quashed the FIR after a legal battle was fought on behalf of the teachers.
Speaking to mediapersons at the Guest House here, he said that on September 16, the High Court had quashed the FIR against the teachers and issued an order quashing the FIR against them. However, the Minister is misusing his power over teachers and using the administrative machinery of the Government for his own prestige. He alleged that the Education Department is the one that is steeped in corruption.
In the Taluk too, Ashwath Narayan said that what works are being carried out through Yogeshwar from Kummakki to slow down the development of the Constituency. Those works are being put on hold. An FIR has already been lodged against our party workers. We are ready to fight a legal battle on behalf of our party workers, he said and alleged that such cunning politics was being played out of the malafide intention of slowing down the development of the Constituency as the elections are round the corner.
