Ramanagara: Damma Divige Charitable Trust President Mallikarjun has demanded that the Mysuru – Bengaluru Highway Road should be named after Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar.
He was speaking at a protest organised by Jayakarnataka Sangathana and Bahujana Jagruti Vedike at the Taluk Office premises in the City. Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar’s contributions to the society were tied to the head of Sir M. Visvesvaraya and he was sidelined, he alleged. Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar is the one who has taken advantage of the water to build Krishnaraja Sagara, Gopalaswamy Reservoir, Thippagondanahalli Reservoir, Mari Valley Dam in Chitradurga.
“This was done to help irrigate crores of acres of dry land of farmers,” he added.
