Ramanagara: The toll collection in Bengaluru – Mysuru tenlane express way has started on Tuesday March 14 amid resentment by Congress party workers. More than 50 Congress workers were detained by Police at Sheshagirihalli toll in District when they strongly objected for collecting toll. The workers alleged that the Government did not construct service road till now but collecting highest money from vehicle owners which is looting public.
When they attempted to block, the Highway Police detained them and released later. But the decision of Government to collect toll angered motorists. On the first day of the toll collection, the motorists lashed out at the toll staff early in the morning, on the other hand fast tag was also not working in morning due to technical error. Motorists waited in long queues to pass the toll due to error. The fast tag scan was getting delayed. Also the toll bar was not working properly.
As scanned, the pole is falling on the vehicle while the vehicle is moving. So the motorists expressed outrage. Motorists urged the government to collect toll only after fullfledged preparations.
A motorist who spoke about this at toll plaza expressed his outrage. A motorist alleged that toll fare is being collected without preparation. There is no proper system, even the toll is not working properly. What to do if the toll pole falls on the car and the glass breaks. Let the toll system be fixed first.
Another motorist Satish said the information should have been given earlier and a banner should have been put up at the entrance of the toll road at Rajarajeshwari hospital, the outskirts of Bengaluru.
