Ramanagara: The villagers of Allimaranahalli Gram Panchayat have alleged that the officials of Allimaranahalli Gram Panchayat are working even on holidays to tamper with the records of irregularities in the Gram Panchayat.

National Human Rights Protection Force (NHRC) Puttaswamy, Ravi from Jagruti Trust, Human Rights and Anti-Corruption Organisation Taluk President Suresh among others who had gathered near the Allimaranahalli Gram Panchayat Office in Kasaba Hobli of the Taluk had protested against the officials who had opened the doors of the Gram Panchayat Office even on holidays.

There was a verbal spat between the officials and the villagers. A tensed situation prevailed. Despite opposition from the villagers, the officials took the protection of the police and continued the work. As the anger of the villagers mounted, the Gram Panchayat officials locked the office and fled from the spot.

They alleged that Allimaranahalli Gram Panchayat Development Officer Hanumanthappa Reni had taken a bribe from the villagers to get an e-account. The investigation into the case is pending. He has not performed his duties with sincerity in the Gram Panchayat and has led to corruption. When the villagers in the vicinity visit office to express their grievances, he is rarely available. He visits the GP Office only as many as 4 to 5 days, the villagers allege.
