Bengaluru: Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa who reviewed the COVID-19 situation in the state today during a high-level meeting, announced that Mask Day will be celebrated on Thursday, June 18 across the state to create awareness on the COVID-19 and importance of wearing mask.
“I will participate in a walkathon for one kilometer from Vidhana Soudha on Thursday at 8.30 am. The idea is creating awareness about wearing a mask,” he said.
He also informed that Rs. 200 fine will be imposed across the state if anyone found not maintaining the social distance or not wearing a mask.
Special taskforce
Meanwhile, CM BS Yediyurappa announced the formation of a special task force at each district level to contain the spread of the COVID-19. He informed that this task force will plan the district level strategy to contain the spread of COVID-19.
Other major decisions taken in the meeting include low-cost packages for COVID-19 treatment, increasing COVID-19 tests per 10 lakh population, ward level monitoring of the situation, random health checking and testing, etc.
