RTO officials seize 308 vehicles

Bengaluru: The Transport Department seized 308 vehicles this week in raids across the city focusing on private buses, which were found plying on routes earmarked for the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation. Several other vehicles, which were found to be violating permit conditions, were also seized and cases were booked, officials said.
“We found several high-end vehicles plying with fake number plates. Buses, which were also plying as stage carriages and parallel to BMTC services, were also stopped and action was taken against them,” a senior RTO official said.
