Bengaluru: As the Karnataka Government has decided to resume schools this month, the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Chennai handed over 1,000 Covid – 19 preventive kits to government students on Tuesday November 23.

The Director General Dong Kyu Kim of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) donated the kits on behalf of Consul General Youngseup Kwon of the Republic of Korea. Education Minister B. C. Nagesh received the kits from him.

According to the sources, Venu Srinivasan, Goodwill Envoy for Culture and Diplomacy of the Republic of Korea, in collaboration with InKo Centre, supported the initiative as part of the Korean National Foundation Day celebrations last month.

“I am relieved to know that the Covid – 19 situation in India has improved substantially following the second wave. The Korean community has participated in various campaigns including six Marina Beach clean-up campaigns since 2014,” said South Korean Consulate General Kwon.
