Bengaluru: The Chennammanakere Achukattu Police have arrested Sandalwood actor Duniya Vijay for obstructing the police investigation in connection with the death of two actors during a film shoot on November 7 in 2016.
A case has been registered against Duniya Vijay under IPC sections 353 and 225 following a complaint filed by Tavarekere Police Head Constable Govindaraju against actor for obstructing the arrest of film Producer Sundar P Gowda and helping him to flee.
Reportedly, the police have arrested Duniya Vijay from a resort in Tamil Nadu.
It may be recalled that two actors Raghava Uday and Anil Kumar had drowned in the Thippagondanahalli reservoir while performing a stunt for the movie “Maasthi Gudi.”
It is gathered that film’s producer Sundar P Gowda was named as one of the accused in the case. As Sundar Gowda did not attend court for hearing in connection to the case, the Ramanagara Court had issued an arrest warrant against him. When police tried to arrest Sundar at his residence in Chennammanakere Achukattu , Vijay who was with him, unnecessarily stalled the police and helped Sundar to escape, the complaint said.
