Bengaluru: Supreme Court on Thursday February 17 stated that it would look into submissions for urgent hearing of the plea related to conducting Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) polls.

Senior advocate Meenakshi Arora, appearing for some of the candidates for the civic body polls, pleaded before the bench headed by Chief Justice N. V. Ramana that elections have not occurred despite tenure of the civic body ended in September 2020. The poll process has been stayed by an order of the Apex Court, he added.

When Arora pointed out that there are enough elections happening in the nation, the bench stated that as you have mentioned it to us now, leave it to us.
