Science In Action (SIA) is an exhibition of science experiments conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium. There are two editions each year- one, in which experiments are set up by the planetarium and the other in which school children set up experiments by themselves. The current SIA being held between December 1 and 3 has experiments set up by school children. Thirty working experiments contributed by sixteen schools are on display. Shooting Steel Spheres, Electro Magnetic Induction (EMI), Laser Interferometer, Chemistry in the kitchen are some of the experiments. These experiments were selected based on the working principal being demonstrated and the visual appeal. This is a non-competitive programme and children participate to showcase their experiments for the joy of learning. Generally, about 5000 visitors, mostly students from schools in and around Bengaluru, visit the exhibition. Participants derive rich learning experience through interaction with visiting students and faculty from educational and research institutions.
Exhibition is open from December 1-3, 2017 between 10.30 AM and 4.30 PM.
