Bengaluru: The police and administration has deployed Rapid Action Force (RAF) contingents along with police vigilance to avert any mishap in Shivajinagar after the brutal murder R Rudresh, an RSS member and ex-BJP secretary on Sunday.
The Bengaluru City police have imposed Section 144 in Shivajinagar, Frazer Town, Commercial Street and Bharathi Nagar from 6am to midnight on Monday. The police also informed that six special teams have been formed to nab the killers. However, no one has identified the assailants as they were wearing helmets.
Local right-wing members took to protest in Shivajinagar area. Many right-wing activists have called for a bandh in Shivajinagar constituency in Bengaluru on Monday following the murder.
The victim, Rudresh (37), was returning home with his friend Jairam after attending an RSS programme when the miscreants hacked him to death on Kamaraj Road in Commercial Street Police Station limits in Shivajinagar. It is said that Rudresh was wearing RSS uniform when the miscreants attacked him. Rudresh was rushed to Bowring Hospital where he was declared brought dead. He is survived by his wife Divya and two children.
