Bengaluru: According to sources, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has said that separate instructions for student hostels and Covid clusters would be issued soon.
Speaking to mediapersons CM informed that details on the current situation on Covid – 19 and the new variant Omicron had been gathered from the expert committee.
“There is no need to be alarmed, considering the present positivity rate. However, caution should be taken, as recommended by the committee.
“Sanitation, serving food in staggered batches, keeping distance, mandatory double dose vaccination for cooking staff, and setting up isolation rooms would all be included in separate guidelines for hostels. Special standard operating procedures for managing Covid clusters in Bengaluru and other places will also be released,” he said.
He also said that the vaccination drive would be intensified again, as suggested by the ministers at the meeting.
He further informed that after taking stock of the situation, a suitable decision on imposing night curfew and restrictions on Christmas and New Year celebrations would be made next week.
