Siddaramaiah meets PM, seeks Rs 4,072 crore drought relief

Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah led delegation called on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Friday and submitted a memorandum for the early release of Rs 4,072 crore compensation to take up drought relief measures in the State.

The delegation also submitted another memorandum to increase the labour budget under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act from the present 6.07 crore to 10 crore man days.

Ananth Kumar, Union Minister of State Commerce and Industry Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister of State for Drinking Water and Sanitation Ramesh C Jigajinagi, Karnataka Minister for Minister for Rural Development H. K. Patil, Minister for Agriculture Krishna Byre Gowda, Leader of the Congress Party in Lok Sabha M. Mallikarjuna Kharge, the Leader of the Opposition in the State Legislative Assembly Jagadish Shettar, the Leader of the Opposition in the State Legislative Council K S Eswarappa, Leaders of the Janata Dal (Secular ) H. D. Revanna and N. Appaji Gowda, the State Government’s Special Representative in New Delhi C. S. Nada Gowda (Appaji), the Chief Secretary to the State Government Dr Subhash Chandra Khuntaia, the Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Tushar Girinath, the Resident Commissioner of the Karnataka Bhavan Atul Kumar Tiwari were the members of the delegation, who called on the Prime Minister at his office in South Block.
