Bengaluru: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has conducted searches at multiple locations in pursuit of Bhavani Revanna, the mother of suspended JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna. This operation comes in connection with a woman kidnap case, as Bhavani was reportedly not found at her residence in Holenarasipura, Hassan district, according to sources on Sunday.
The SIT had issued a notice to Bhavani, urging her to be present at home on June 1 for questioning in relation to allegations of sexual abuse against her son. However, upon the SIT’s arrival at her residence, named ‘Chennambika Nilaya’, Bhavani was absent.
On Saturday evening, two women lawyers visited ‘Chennambika Nilaya’ and met with SIT officials, though the purpose of their meeting remains undisclosed. Sources revealed that Bhavani, through her legal representatives, communicated her unwellness and expressed her intent to cooperate with the investigation shortly.
Holenarasipura JD(S) MLA H.D. Revanna, Bhavani’s husband, is currently out on bail in the same case. Despite extensive searches conducted in Mysuru, Hassan, Bengaluru, Mandya, and Ramanagara, including visits to Bhavani’s relatives’ residences, she remains elusive, as per sources. Various teams have been assembled by the SIT to locate Bhavani.
The JD(S) family, particularly former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda’s son H.D. Revanna, along with his wife Bhavani and son Prajwal, has come under scrutiny following the emergence of numerous explicit videos on April 21. Prajwal, seeking reelection from the Hassan Lok Sabha constituency as an NDA candidate, had fled to Germany in light of the allegations.
Upon Prajwal’s return from Germany on Friday, he was promptly arrested by the SIT at the Bengaluru airport. A special court in the city has remanded him to police custody until June 6.
