Bengaluru: Karnataka reported 239 new COVID-19 cases and two deaths on Sunday, June 7. The total number of COVID-19 cases has now risen to 5452 and the death toll has risen to 61.
Both the deaths have been reported from the Bengaluru Urban district. The first is a 61-year-old woman who was diagnosed with a sever acute respiratory illness (SARI) and a known case of DM, HTN, and hypertension. She was admitted to a designated hospital on May 29 and was in the ICU on a ventilator, She passed away on June 6.
The second fatality is a 57-year-old man from the district with a known case of DM and HTN.he was suffering from filariasis and chronic myeloid lukemia and was admitted to a designated hospital on June 3. He died on June 7.
The break-up of the cases are: Kalaburagi (39), Yadagir (39), Belagavi (38), Bengaluru (23), Dakshina Kannada (17), Davanagere (17), Udupi (13), Shivamogga (12), Vijayapura (9), Bidar (7), Ballari (6), Bengaluru Rural (5), Hassan, (5), Dharwad (3), Gadag (2), Uttara Kannada (2), Mandya (1), Raichur (1).
There are a total of 3257 active cases in the state.
