Bengaluru: A young woman was found dead in Bengaluru’s Sankey Tank in the Sadashivanagar area on Monday, with police suspecting that she died by suicide. An investigation has been launched to ascertain the circumstances leading to her death.
The deceased has been identified as a student from Chikkabanavara. According to preliminary investigations, she is believed to have arrived at the lake alone during the night before entering the water.
Body recovered after alert
Police from the Sadashivanagar Police Station rushed to the spot after receiving information about a body floating in the lake. The body was recovered and sent for post-mortem examination.
Initial findings suggest there were no immediate signs of foul play. However, police said all aspects of the case are being examined, and the exact cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem and forensic examination.
Family informed
Authorities have informed the victim’s parents, who are expected to arrive to complete the necessary legal formalities.
