Bengaluru: Normal life was disrupted in Sringeri and Tumakuru towns of the State on Friday October 22 following bandh calls given by various local organisations over different issues. Tight police security has been arranged in both the towns.

In Sringeri, locals are observing a bandh voluntarily demanding 100-bed hospital. The locals are pressuring the State Government to sanction a hospital for the last 14 years. As there is no government response to the demand, all the organisations and locals are observing the bandh. As it is Friday, the bandh has caused problems for the devotees arriving from distant places.

Bajrang Dal activists called for Tumakuru bandh in protest against attack on their leaders, recently. They are alleging that criminals attacked Bajrang Dal leaders while they were trying to rescue cows being smuggled. Additional police force has been deployed from Bengaluru to ensure law and order situation is in place in this communally sensitive town.

In both the cities response for the bandh has been good.
