In a shocking revelation, Rajendra, father of Rakesh Khedekar—the man accused of killing his wife, Gauri—stated that his son admitted to the crime over a phone call before attempting suicide.

According to Rajendra, Rakesh called him, saying he “did this” due to frequent fights with Gauri. He had also previously complained to his mother-in-law about her alleged harassment. Rajendra, who is also Gauri’s uncle, claimed she had a history of aggression and even assaulted Rakesh’s 86-year-old grandmother.

Rakesh confessed to his father before surrendering at Shirwal Police Station in Pune. He had poisoned himself and was hospitalized before his arrest. The couple, first cousins, had married against family wishes. Police revealed that during a heated argument on March 26, Gauri allegedly attacked Rakesh with a knife. In retaliation, he stabbed her multiple times, stuffed her body in a suitcase, and hid it in their bathroom.

Rakesh informed a neighbor, leading to police intervention. Authorities continue investigating the case.
