Taskforce to aid State’s 7 Govt Engg Colleges to be set up

Bengaluru: The taskforce is being constituted to upgrade State’s seven Government Engineering Colleges.

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has ordered for the formation of taskforce during the meeting which was held on Thursday May 5. He said that the task force includes educationists from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), and National Institute Of Technology among others.

The taskforce will be constituted within two days. The seven colleges selected for upgradation are from Kalaburagi, Haveri , Karwar, KR Pete , Kodagu , Ramanagara, and Bengaluru. The Government aimed to develop these colleges on par with IIT by next year.

CM Bommai added that the institutions should focus on research and development.
