Bengaluru: A 25-year-old woman was allegedly found dead at her residence in Bengaluru’s Sunkadakatte, nearly four months after her marriage. Police said the woman, identified as Shwetha, was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her bedroom.

The incident came to light after police were alerted to the death. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway.

Suicide note alleges harassment

According to police, Shwetha, a native of Shivamogga and a teacher at a private school, left behind a suicide note in which she allegedly blamed her husband and sister-in-law for harassing her.

In the note, she reportedly wrote that she had lost the will to live and appealed to her mother to ensure those responsible were not spared.

Police said the contents of the note are being verified as part of the ongoing investigation.

Frequent disputes after marriage

Investigators said Shwetha had entered into a love marriage about four months ago. Since then, the couple had allegedly been involved in frequent marital disputes.

Police said another argument reportedly took place on July 10, following which Shwetha allegedly died by suicide.

Officials from the Kamakshipalya Police Station reached the spot and began investigations. The woman’s husband has been detained for questioning, while her family members have been informed.

Further legal procedures are being carried out after the arrival of the deceased’s relatives.

Investigation continues

Police said they are examining all aspects of the case, including the allegations mentioned in the suicide note. No arrests have been announced so far, and further action will depend on the findings of the investigation.

Authorities have urged the public not to speculate on the circumstances surrounding the case until the investigation is completed.
