Bengaluru: After the Police Department, now the Department of Public Instruction (DPI) also has decided to provide 1% reservation for transgenders in the teachers’ recruitment drive.
The final recruitment rules were notified on Tuesday February 22 in which this provision has been announced.
The State Government is planning to recruit 15,000 graduate teachers for classes between 6 to 8. This new reservation norm will be followed while recruiting the teachers.
BE graduates with teachers training are also allowed to apply for the teachers posts.
The State Government also has proposed setting up a Teachers’ Recruitment Authority to carry out this recruitment process.
