A Bengaluru-based technology professional has drawn attention online after leaving a nearly decade-long career at Google to pursue content creation full-time.
Srigeeta Shrinivas, 35, who previously worked as a principal account manager, stepped away from her corporate role despite earning roughly €200,000 annually—about ₹2 crore.
She explained that the decision to leave her job was not sudden but came after months of reflection about the direction of her career.
“I made the decision to quit Google in June 2025. It came after a lot of reflection,” she said, adding that she wanted to explore opportunities beyond a defined corporate role.
From corporate career to creative journey
Shrinivas officially left Google in December 2025 after nearly ten years with the company. During her career, she worked in Hyderabad before moving to Dublin in 2019 for a client-facing role managing major European fashion accounts.
Despite the financial stability and global exposure the job offered, she felt the need to pursue something more expansive.
“Financial security alone wasn’t enough. I wanted to build something of my own,” she said.
Content creation began years earlier
Content creation was not a sudden shift for Shrinivas. She had been producing content alongside her corporate job for nearly five years.
Through the process, she discovered strengths she had not previously explored, including storytelling, speaking on camera and building an online audience.
Her announcement video about leaving Google unexpectedly went viral on social media, increasing her followers significantly within a month.
She now documents her journey through a series titled “Rebuilding life after quitting Google”, aiming to grow her platform while sharing insights about unconventional career choices.
Building a creator-led business
Shrinivas has already begun monetising her content through collaborations with travel and lifestyle brands.
Her long-term goal is to build a personal brand centred around travel, adventure and alternative life paths.
While she says she is fully committed to her creator journey for now, she remains open to future opportunities if they align with her values and long-term vision.
