Three held for cheating people promising medical seats

Bengaluru: The police have arrested three engineering graduates for cheating people by promising medical seats at reputed medical colleges in the city. The police said the arrested persons have cheated people of at least Rs 38 lakh in three different cases.

Two fake journalists held for extortion-1The police have identified the arrested persons as Bharath Babu (25), Anchith Sharma (26) and Rithesh Kuamar. They are all engineering graduates and residents of Hulimavu. The police have recovered Rs 37.95 lakh in cash, a car and a two-wheeler from the arrested persons.

The police arrested them based on a complaint filed by Tirupathi and Umpathi from Karimnagar in Telangana. The police said the arrested persons had taken two cheques for Rs 10 lakh and Rs 20 lakh from them by promising to get them medical seats at a private medical college but after encashing the cheques they started avoiding Tirupathi and Umapathi.

The police arrested the three persons on Tuesday and during the interrogation they revealed that they had cheated others too.
