Ticket checking in Bengaluru City buses intensified

Bengaluru: Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has intensified checking of buses operated in and around City to detect ticketless travellers.

In a statement BMTC stated, “During the month of May 2022, our staff had checked 25,014 trips and penalised 2,722 ticketless passengers. A total of Rs. 4,52,560 has been collected as a penalty and 1,387 cases against conductors have been booked for dereliction of duty.”

Further, through the statement the passengers have been advised to purchase tickets or passes and travel.
