Chikkaballapur: In a tragic incident near Kelagina Thotta on the outskirts of Chikkaballapur, four students lost their lives when the car they were traveling in plunged into a drainage ditch around 10:30 PM on Saturday.

The victims have been identified as Tyagore (21) from Chinthamani, Vasanth (20), and Aryan (19) from Chikkaballapur, and Pavan (20) from Hebbal, Bengaluru. They were students at various colleges in Bengaluru, traveling from Bengaluru to Chikkaballapur.

Chikkaballapur Superintendent of Police D.L. Nagesh stated that the preliminary investigation suggests the driver may have lost control due to rash and negligent driving, leading to the car ending up in a drainage ditch channel.

Passersby who noticed the vehicle in the ditch informed the police, prompting a quick response. A team of police, along with fire personnel and local villagers, worked to pull the vehicle out of the ditch.

The family members of the deceased reached Chikkaballapur on Sunday, facing the heartbreaking aftermath of the tragic accident.
