A heartbreaking incident occurred in the Tavarekere area off Bengaluru-Magadi Road, where a four-year-old girl lost her life and her cousin of the same age sustained severe injuries after being hit by a speeding car.
Details of the Incident
The two children, accompanied by another cousin, were walking by the roadside on their way home when the tragic accident occurred. The incident took place on Saturday between 5pm and 5.05pm. Despite being rushed to Nimhans, the girl succumbed to her injuries around 7.15pm. Meanwhile, her cousin Vedant is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Goraguntepalya. The victim was identified as P Kushmita, a resident of Naganahalli in Tavarekere.
Complaint Filed
The father of the deceased, Prasanna Kumar, 40, has filed a complaint with the Tavarekere police. According to Prasanna, the children were walking on the village road when the speeding car swerved and hit them. The driver, reportedly from Bengaluru, had come to their farmhouse in the village with his mother. Despite the tragic incident, the driver and his mother remained at the scene.
Ongoing Investigation
As of now, the Tavarekere police are yet to arrest the driver. However, they have obtained clues about the accused and are actively pursuing the case.
