Tumakuru: As many as 10 government high school teachers who were allegedly involved in illegal recruitment a few years ago have been suspended.
The CID police had on September 6 arrested the teachers on charges of gaining employment through illegal means. DDPI C. Nanjaiah on Wednesday September 14 issued a suspension that will take effect as of the arrest date.
Following allegations of irregularities in the recruitment of teachers between 2012 and 2014, CID officials visited the district’s schools where the ‘tainted’ teachers were working last month and arrested them.
According to sources, they took them into their custody after producing them before a magistrate in Bengaluru.
