Tumakuru: All Karnataka State Community Health Employees’ Association (AKSCHEA) staged a protest in front of the District Health and Family Welfare Officer’s Office here on Friday November 18 demanding regularisation of services, increase in incentives and action against harassment by superiors.
According to the Association, 394 BSc Nursing and MSc Nursing students, who have taken the entrance test under the Rashtriya Arogya Abhiyan programme in PHC Sub-Centres in the District and have been recruited on honorarium basis. They are working as community health officers, and are being harassed by their superiors as well as their batchmates in the Health Department who have permanent posting.
On Friday, all Community Health Officials across the State suspended their services and staged a protest in front of all DHO Offices.
