Tumakuru: Former MLA Gangahanumayya has been requested by his followers to be chosen as the BJP candidate for Koratagere SC Reserved Assembly Constituency.
Addressing a press conference at Naveen Comfort at Koratagere in the District on Sunday November 27, Madiga Jagruti Samiti State President Shivanna said that Gangahanumayya and his family have been actively organising the Bharathiya Janata Party since 2006 and have done a job that will be appreciated by all races and all sections of the society when they were MLAs twice in Madhugiri.
Thus, Gangahanumayya’s family has a personality that is admired by all sections of people. He said that if someone from Gangahanumayya’s family is given a ticket as a candidate from Koratagere Constituency in the upcoming Assembly elections, the victory target can be achieved.
In the 2008 elections, Gangahanumayya contested as a BJP candidate and managed to get 33,000 votes. He could have won on the same day, but since the JD (S) candidate was also from the same community, the votes got divided and defeated. In the 2013 elections, he was denied a BJP ticket by unseen hands. As a result, the party lost its deposit,” he said.
