Tumakuru: A young farmer was killed in a bear attack at Elekadakalu Village in Huliyoordurga Hobli of Kunigal Taluk in the District at around 4.30 pm on Wednesday December 14.
The deceased has been identified as Lekadalu Raju (33), who died due to a bear attack.
Raju was engaged in agricultural activity on his farm when the bear suddenly attacked him and severely injured him. Raju who panicked by the bear’s attack, screamed. The neighbours came to the spot and chased away the bear.
Raju, who was seriously injured, was rushed to Kunigal Government Hospital where he was given first aid and died on the way to Adichunchanagiri Hospital for further treatment.
Huliyoordurga Conservator of Forests Mohammed Mansoor has launched an investigation in this regard.
