Tumakuru: MLA Dr. G. Parameshwara has solved the nearly 40-year-old problem of the villagers of Madya Venkatapura and surrounding areas.

The villagers along with the leaders, appealed to MLA Dr. G. Parameshwara that the people of Madhyavenkatapura, Bandrehalli, Bhaktahalli and Nagarahalli Villages of Holavanahalli Hobli in the Taluk had to travel 4 to 5 kilometres to get ration for about 40 years. Responding to the request, the MLAs spoke to the officials and launched a ration sub-centre at Venkatapura on Monday December 19 and distributed ration.

Speaking to mediapersons, MLA Dr. G. Parameshwara said that the villagers of these four villages were walking for 5 kms to get ration to Mavattur Village a few years ago, then shifted it to Lingapura Ration Centre but there was a problem of walking 4 kms to get ration from that centre and coming back, which was causing a lot of problems to farmers, labourers, women and the elderly. Realising the villagers’ difficulty and responding to the villagers’ request I add that I have kept my promise,” he said.
