Tumakuru: Situation turned tense for sometime at Bilidevalaya near Kunigal in the District, when Bajrang Dal activists rushed into the residence house of a Scheduled Caste community member in the night of Tuesday December 30. The activists were led by BJP Gram Panchayat Member Nagaraj, and the group alleged the member of sheltering people involved in religious conversion activities.

The activists and community members had a verbal altercation which ended only after both the parties approached Kunigal police to file complaints against each other. Police asked them to compromise and warned them not to indulge in altercation.

It is said that four people had arrived at the house and were offering prayers, following which the GP member alerted the activists. Claiming prayer meetings being held over a month, the activists and GP members alleged conversion of as many as 20 innocents.
