Tumakuru: Thieves broke open the lock of the door and entered a house with a cloth wrapped around their face, threatened a woman with a knife, and robbed gold ornaments including cash, and fled from the spot at Haluvagalu Village in Hutridurga Hobli of the Taluk.

Lalithamma, a resident of Haluvagalu Village in Hutridurga Hobli, lost her cash and gold ornaments. Lalithamma’s husband has passed away and her son lives in Bengaluru. Lalithamma was alone in the house.

As usual, Lalithamma woke up at around 1.30 am on the night of Wednesday night and she heard the cows mooing.

At the same time, two thieves broke open the lock of the door of the house and entered the room and one of the thieves showed a knife to Lalithamma and asked her to give her the lock of the cupboard. In a fit of fear, Lalithamma gave the lock of the cupboard. They threw away her clothes and then stole the cash along with gold and silver articles.

The thieves were speaking a mix of Telugu and Kannada. Lalithamma, in her complaint to the police, said that though two thieves had entered the house, she saw three people go away on the bike.

A dog squad and fingerprint experts visited the spot and collected information. Kunigal Police has registered a case and is investigating.
