Tumkuru: Social Worker Vishu Shetty rescued, treated and released the Garuda (Brahmini Kite), which was in a state where it was unable to fly due to some reason near Nittur.
Vishu Shetty, who took proper suggestion and got treatment done from doctors, kept it in his workshop for about 22 days, allowed the Garuda bird to fly on Thursday March 30 as it was able to fully recover and fly.
Vishu Shetty, who is known for providing humanitarian assistance to the needy, the sick and the victims, has also taken care of and protected several injured birds.
There are no seafarers who do not see an eagle-sized Garuda with the back, wings, tail all red or red, head, chest white.The bird is known as ‘Gendagidi’ in Tulu language and is known as ‘Brahmini Kite’ in English. Its scientific name is Haliastur indus.
