The Sampigehalli police have arrested two men for allegedly robbing a person of ₹9,000 after threatening him with weapons in north Bengaluru.

The accused have been identified as Mohammed Nayim (20) and Syed Wasim (26), both residents of DJ Halli.

Victim allegedly threatened with weapons

According to police, the incident took place between 4.30 am and 4.40 am on June 17 near Saraipalya.

The complainant was reportedly intercepted by the two accused, who arrived on a scooter. Police said the duo allegedly brandished a knife and a metal rod, threatened the victim, and forcibly took ₹9,000 before fleeing the scene.

CCTV footage helps crack the case

Following the complaint, Sampigehalli police launched an investigation and analysed CCTV footage from the surrounding area.

The footage reportedly helped investigators identify the suspects, leading to their arrest in DJ Halli.

Weapons and vehicle seized

Police have seized a Suzuki Access scooter allegedly used during the robbery and recovered ₹1,000 from the accused. Officials said the remaining stolen money is believed to have been spent.

The knife and metal rod allegedly used in the crime were also recovered during the operation.

The accused were produced before a court and have been remanded in judicial custody.

Investigation continues

Police are continuing their investigation to ascertain whether the accused were involved in any similar offences in the city.
