Bengaluru: Two people were injured and a few houses were damaged in an explosion caused during earth excavation work undertaken by a Benglauru-based construction company on Magadi Road on Tuesday.
The police have identified the injured as Dakshinamurthy (60) and Akhilesh (12). The injured were admitted to a private hospital for treatment. According to police sources, the explosion occurred around 12.30 pm when the workers were triggering blasts to break a boulder at the construction site of Prestige group on Magadi Road.
The police said some pieces of rock fell on the houses adjacent to Minerva Mill workers’ quarters and some houses developed cracks. Two people suffered injuries. The Magadi Road police rushed to the spot and supervised the blast site.
A case has been registered against the construction company for negligence in handling explosives.
