Bengaluru : The Central government has given its nod to start flights from Hubballi and Koppala of Karnataka to 10 main cities of the country under UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagarik).
In the auction held on Wednesday, Spice Jet, Indigo, Ghodawat, Turbo Aviation and Alliance Air aviation companies got the license to provide service from these two cities. Under UDAN, for regional connectivity maximum 50 % seats can be booked in advance with maximum charge, while other seats will have a modest charge.
MP Prahlad Joshi and Karadi Sanganna hailed the efforts of Union Ministers for Civil Aviation Ashok Ganapati Raju and Jayant Sinha for the implementation of UDAN in Hubballi and Koppala, which are respectably belong to Mumbai Karnataka and Hyderabad Karnataka. The main objective of the UDAN project is to connect the cities of regional importance.
