Bengaluru: Following Election Commission’s 72-hour ban order against his campaign, BJP state unit cancelled Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adithyanath’s state visit on Wednesday.

According to the BJP state unit sources, as per the original schedule, UP CM Yogi was supposed to address rallies in Bidar, Kalaburugi and Hubballi-Dharwad on Wednesday.

“As Election Commission imposed a 72-hour ban on his campaign, all the events are cancelled. Instead, local leaders will attend these events,” said a BJP leader.

Meanwhile, Yogi Aditya Nath is expected to visit Shivamogga Lok Sabha constituency to campaign for party candidate BY Raghavendra, son of former CM BS Yeddyurappa. “The date of his visit is yet to be fixed,” informed a BJP leader from Shivamogga.
