Bengaluru: Karnataka’s mouthwatering delicacy will now go to Uttarakhand to satisfy the taste buds of children studying in the government school. The exchange of delicacies between the two states will bring unity. Karnataka’s traditional sweet “Mysore Pak” will be exchanged with Uttarakhand’s famous sweet “Bal Mithai”.

The center and the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development have proposed “Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat”.

K.G.Jagadeesha, Commissioner, Department of Public Instructor said that they had initiated many programs earlier under the “Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat” but never discussed officially the exchange of delicacies. The commissioner further added that some of the children from Uttarakhand had visited Karnataka and were introduced to the Karnataka’s culture and traditional food.

While the procurement model is yet to be finalised, the officials of Uttarakhand too have agreed to distribute Bal Mithai to the children of Karnataka under the Akshara Dasoha scheme of the midday meal.
