Bengaluru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said on Saturday December 19 said that Veer Savarkar revolutionary among the freedom fighters, and great patriot.
He was speaking after releasing the book, Savarkar- The Man Who Could Have Prevented Partition. CM said, The book is most relevant in the present political context. Our culture was divided due to partition, he observed and added that no one has analysed the huge impact the partition has had on our country. Veer Savarkar tried bring oneness to our culture, he stressed.
Stating that it is possible to awaken our conscience in this era of globalisation only through imbibing and furthering culture and values, he said that Savarkar was a real nuclear bomb for the British, and that is the reason why British kept him at Andaman away from the people of his nation, he added.
Further, he said Savarkar shared a good relationship with Babasaheb Ambedkar. Both championed for removal of untouchability, he noted.
BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) B. L. Santhosh, and Adichunchanagiri Matha Seer Nirmalananda Swamy among others were present.
