Bengaluru: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President D. K. Shivakumar said that BJP leaders who want to gain power through blood (communal conflict) should wear a red shawl rather than a saffron one.
He was speaking at the Jana Dhwani convention on Tuesday May 10 which was organised by the District Congress Committee to highlight the failures of the State Government.
He claimed that BJP leaders have begun to wear caps and that youths are being forced to wear saffron shawls. “What is the connection between the BJP and the colour saffron? You must wear a red cap because you need blood. The lotus flower grows in muddy water rather than clear water. Similarly, the leaders of the BJP, whose symbol is the lotus, want to gain power by disturbing society’s peace.
For India’s independence, Congress leaders had sacrificed their lives. He said that not a single BJP politician had given his life. He claimed that though BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal openly stated that he was asked to pay Rs. 2,500 Crore for the Chief Minister post.
However, as he stated the truth, the party authorities have taken no action against him. “If I were in the ruling party, I would have expelled the MLA who made such a controversial statement.”
