Bengaluru: A woman passenger travelling on an Air Asia flight from Ranchi to Bengaluru has accused three staffers of the airline of touching her inappropriately.

The incident took place on November 3 when the woman, on finding the washroom unclean raised the matter with a staff member. However, instead of looking into her complaint the staff forced her to return to her seat and threatened to deboard her, said the woman alleging that the male staff had touched her inappropriately while she was inside the toilet.

The woman’s ordeal did not end here as the three staff members-Sanmith Karandikar, Kaizad Suntoke and Jithin Ravindran cornered her after the flight landed at Bengaluru Airport demanding an apology from her failing which they would turn her over to the cops.

The woman later filed a case at the Sadashivnagar Police Station for misbehaviour and sexual harassment.

Meanwhile, the airline has, in its statement, claimed that the woman was seen talking over the phone while the flight was prepared to take off and used abusive language when asked by a staff member to switch off the phone as per the prescribed safety procedures.

Air Asia filed a complaint of its own with the airport police and reported the matter to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.

The incident comes close on the heels of another incident, that came to light recently wherein IndiGo staffers were accused of manhandling a senior passenger at Delhi airport.
